Every component of the FR20 has been carefully crafted to ensure maximum performance, from the phase-correct crossover to the uncompromising cabinet design to the custom-made drivers. The aspen FR20 is a rare speaker that can accurately reproduce sound from 28Hz to 20kHz with excellent dynamics, power, and minimal distortion. What is recorded on the disc is what you will hear with a greater level of detail than most have ever experienced. The FR20 offers grace, beauty, pace, rhythm, and timing, and a level of musicality that is rare among speakers that cost six figures from other brands.

The PS Audio FR20 speakers boast high-frequency drivers with less mass than the air they are driving, offering exceptional speed and clarity. The midrange drivers would be almost undetectable - completely transparent and without any coloration. Furthermore, the four woofers and four passive radiators in each pair of speakers would ensure an amazing bass response.

PS Audio combine the speed of an electrostat with the dynamics of a cone Planar Magnetics on the FR20. The drivers have symmetrical "push-pull" neodymium motors and directly driven ultra-low mass diaphragms with no cone or dome breakup, inductance modulation, or hysteresis distortion. The low end has long-throw high-excursion woofers with a unique split magnetic gap and a double faraday ring for low, linear inductance and wide bandwidth, with a single progressive Nomex spider. The woofer cones have a low-mass PMI foam core with non-woven carbon fiber skins. Lastly, there are high-compliance passive radiators for maximum linearity and extended deep bass extension without the compression and distortion of ports.

The full range 3-way system has a sensitivity of 87 dB and features one 2.5" planar ribbon tweeter, a 10" planar ribbon midrange, two 8" low distortion high excursion woofers, two 10" low distortion high excursion bass radiators, advanced carbon fiber PMI foam composite woofer cones, thermoset fiberglass resin front baffles, a flat impedance curve for easy amplifier load, smooth and full off axis response, in-room bass response to 20hz @ -6db, one piece cabinet for easy setup, adjustable milled brass feet, easy to position for best performance, heavy internal bracing for low cabinet vibration, and custom film capacitors & premium air-core inductors.
