Taking inspiration from the flagship Model 30 turntable, the SME Model 15 seeks to emulate the excellence of its older brother whilst maintaining a more compact design, and modest price point.

The SME Model 15 sub chassis is suspended on 30 purpose moulded ‘O’ rings and weighs, together with the platter, more than 11.0 kg (24 lbs). Helping the deck deliver a natural performance that is free from colouration.

A 4.6kg fully machined platter, crafted from aluminium, provides the turntable with extra damping. The SME Model 15 platter is completed thanks to a diamond turned top surface with a fine scroll finish giving an optimal record interface. To keep your record in place the Model 15 Turtables comes with a large diameter reflex record clamp.

All of this is driven by a 3 phase, brushless outrunner motor with 8-pole Neodymium magnets and 3 integrated Hall effect sensors. Due to the motors weight (2.5kg) it is virtually vibrationless, but this hasn't stopped SME taking it one step further by isolating the motor further by using urethane mounts that are adjustable for accurate belt positioning.
