Well known Japanese electronics brand Luxman has just entered its tenth decade, as one of the world’s oldest and most respected audio manufacturers they have looked back at their roots to create the traditional looking Japanese amp, the Luxman L-590AX MKII Amplifier.

Released in January 2016 the Luxman L-590AX MKII Amplifier packs modern technology into its retro casework, a pure Class A integrated the L-590AX MKII is the culmination of all that Luxman has learned since launching Japan’s first high-quality integrated hi-fi amplifier, in 1961.

The heart of the amp is Luxman’s fourth-generation ODNF (Only Distortion Negative Feedback) circuit. This allows the Luxman L-590AXII amplifier to restrict the feedback to distortion components only, enabling a fast primary slew rate, ultra-wide bandwidth and enhanced signal-to-noise performance.

The preamp section of the Luxman L-590AX MKII amplifier shares a lot of similarities the flagship C-900u pre from Luxman, including the LECUA 1000 attenuator circuit, which provides an extremely fine degree of volume control and left/right balance adjustment

As you would come to expect the Luxman L-590AXII amplifier is equipped with bass and treble controls, it also comes with a ‘loudness’ control for low- level listening, a ‘line straight’ button that bypasses the tone controls, and phase selection for the balanced inputs. Turntable users you haven’t been forgotten about either, as theLuxman L-590AXII amplifier includes an on-board phono stage that is interchangeable between MM and MC.

Keeping with the family appearance the Luxman L-590AXII amplifier fascia two VU meters, one for each channel. To the back of the amp are six inputs (four RCA and two XLR) alongside the already mentioned phono input for turntables, two sets of speaker binding posts complete this colossus integrated.
